Reef Fishing
Well, if you're game,
really keen to bend that rod, and hope to stay connected to all manner
of tropical speedsters, casting the long wand around shallow reef structure
and bommies can yield some surprising captures.
Anything that will
crunch a lure will eagerly do the same to a fly. Hang on, its not for
the faint hearted, but the inner glow and sense of satisfaction as the
species list mounts into uncharted territory can have its own special
pleasure.
Fly fishermen are like that.
Coral trout, various
trevally, cod, mackerel, barracuda and even nannygai have all fallen to
the fly too often to be flukes. It's up to your imagination, angling skills
and perhaps spirit of adventure. Be prepared to lose some gear though,
as these critters play dirty.
