BRANSFORDS DALT WATER BARRA CLASSIC.

It has been my vision to hold such an annual comp. in Cairns for many years……if the NT can have a Barra Classic why can’t we…..and ours is aimed at individuals and Families….not an invitation only comp. We hope that entries come from across the fishing spectrum as the boundaries are Daintree River in the North to Russell River in the South.

Anglers can fish from the banks….rocky headlands…around the islands…in their tinnies etc.

The prizes are amazing and include 4 x LIMITED EDITION ABU REVO Baitcasters matched up with BRANSFORDS CUSTOM BUILT BARRA Rods……Heaps of other prizes such as HALCO RMG SCORPION LURE PACKS …PENN BARRA COMBOS and a swag of lucky door prizes WILL BE WON. The rules of the comp. ensure that only one major prize can be won by any individual so there will be a good ‘spread’ of the goodies.

Every entrant will receive a raffle ticket to win an Ally Craft Tinnie… Suzuki 15hp Motor & Trailer ! This is a bonus….and….you do not have to be at the weigh in and presentation to claim the prize…however if you are present there will be bonus prizes on top of the tinnie package. Extra tickets in the tinnie raffle can be purchased for $10-00 each.

Entries range from $20 to $35 per senior and $15 to $20 per junior. FAMILY entries ( 2 adults plus 2 children) range from $60 to $80……The lesser entry fees are for Yorkeys Knob Sport Fishing Club Members….and anyone wishing to join before the comp. are welcome.

In addition to the prizes YKSFC will host a briefing night on Friday the 8th. May where a Calcutta will be conducted plus free nibblies……..then on the Sunday the weigh in will be at 4 p.m. at Yorkeys Knob Boating Club with a free BBQ for entrants. This is a top value event and is sure to be popular.

The rules ensure that only one barra ( gilled & gutted) can be weighed in per entrant..AND the maximum size is 90cms. ( This is so we protect our breeding female fish).

We also realise that May 10th is Mothers Day….so…..we will make sure all mothers present at the BBQ and presentation are spoiled.
