Port Hinchinbrook Resort
Port Hinchinbrook, Cardwell
Branded ‘The Boathouses’, individual cabins set in lush, tropical surroundings and overlooking the magnificent 300 berth marina, the Hinchinbrook Channel and spectacular Hinchinbrook Island.
Facing due north, each cabin has its own spaciously covered verandah with day bed and lounge chairs – perfect for lazy afternoons enjoying a good book or having a cold drink with friends.
Inside, timber floors, a high pitched roof with exposed beams, the choice of either twin, queen or king size bed, extremely generous bathroom and all the usual mod-cons you would find in a five star city hotel are included.
Using The Boathouses at Port Hinchinbrook as their base, guests are offered a variety of different activities including reef trips, island stopovers (Dunk Island for lunch), walking treks on Hinchinbrook Island with a compulsory swim in the fresh water rock pools below Zoe Falls.
Inland excursions are also available including Australia’s best white water rafting at Tully Falls, a visit to the spectacular Herbert River Gorge or for the more adventurous, a climb to Queensland’s highest peak Mount Bartle Frere.
Bareboats, including sailing, houseboats and motorised craft are available from our marina for day trips or longer stays. For those guests who just want to do nothing – they can soak up the sunshine around our beautiful 25m free-form pool or take in a long lunch at our harbour-side café and bar.
