Heli-Fishing Safaris
Within
a couple of hours flying time from Cairns, Weipa or Horn Island, a whole
new angling experience awaits. Picture yourself on a safari deep into
Far Northern Australia, fishing remote jungle streams and tropical islands.
Mangrove-lined estuarine creeks
where Australia's top sportsfish, the mighty barramundi, waits for the
keen angler to come up against their renown fighting ability.
Rainforest-clad jungle streams yield the plucky Sooty Grunter and jungle
perch, remote estuaries and bays that are home to marauding hordes of
queenfish, trevally, mangrove jacks and salmon.
We may see huge saltwater
crocodiles basking on the banks of coastal rivers, before it's back in
the chopper and off to isolated lagoons for more prime barra.
This unique experience
is only for two people who will have exclusive use of their own helicopter.
Come on ……where's
your sense of adventure. Why
not take an extended tour to these pristine, rarely fished locations,
stunning scenery and set foot where you may have been the very first to
do so.
See the Cape from
the same vantage point as the eagle, landing in places inaccessible to
four wheel drives. Our safaris are tailored to your interests. Visit the
small communities of the Cape, spot a crocodile, walk a totally uninhabited
beach, meet some unique characters and cover more country in a week than
you could traverse in a month by car.
Your guide, Dennis
"Brazakka" Wallace is a legend in these parts. From a pioneer in the Gulf
prawn fishery to world-renowned game boat skipper, to accessing some of
the Cape's most remote locations. He is a character all right and his
experience, local knowledge and enthusiasm will ensure a very memorable
trip.
Itinerary
Let us take you away
on a complete wilderness adventure, traversing the entire Cape York Peninsula
from Cairns to the most northern point of Australia and the beautiful
Torres Strait.
During
this week of non-stop adventure, you could be fishing, sightseeing, crocodile-spotting
or just walking along an isolated beach where the only footprints will
be your own.
The 3-day safari will
take you deep into Cape York, staying at the Exchange hotel at Coen, a Queensland bush pub.
The 5-day safari also includes two nights at Haggerstone
Island Resort where we do some blue water fishing into your itinerary,
and a night in the Torres Strait.
These safaris are flexible,
and the focus is on individual preferences whether it be fishing, photography,
or sightseeing. All you will need is cool, sun-protective clothes and
a hat - everything else is provided!
In the words of one of our clients: The Brazakka day was one of those "life changing" experiences, none of us had been in a chopper before that day and we had a brilliant time. Dennis and James were fantastic, we went many places and now wish we had done the 3 day trip. Initially I was sceptical about tearing up $8,000 a day BUT it was worth every cent. Thanks for making the booking process so easy and providing such exemplory operators. Mark, Australia.
From $5500 per day for two people.
