Swallow tail dart are quite commonly caught along the shore break and river and estuary mouths along the tropical coast.

Averaging around the 30-40cm mark these little silver streaks are great fun on light spinning tackle and offer a prime target for the whole family especially the kids.

They have a small mouth so require light tackle, running sinker rig of 3kg, a No.1 hook and peeled prawn baits. Use any current to take your bait to their feeding zone.
